Dummy Presents: Downtown Singles Club at Elvis Guesthouse, NYC

For the March instalment of the New York City leg of our Dummy Presents event series we invite Downtown Singles Club into the fold. A part of Downtown Records, the sub-imprint delivers smoking hot singles to your inbox, hand selected by the squad.

Described as a hybrid of Amy Winehouse and Missy Elliott, Chicago-based R&B artist Jean Deaux is a notable female face in music right now. Responsible for the debut release on Downtown Singles Club, Father Time, this is her first live appearance in the city since signing to the label, so we can’t wait to see her holdin’ it down at Elvis Guesthouse.

The ever-hypnotic Chicago-raised, NY-based rapper Alex Chapman will be on DJ duties for Jean Deaux’s live set, and to play some more music after.

Fresh off the back of support on My Nu Leng’s US tour, Celestial Trax will also be joining the DSL ranks. Releasing previously on label’s ranging from Rinse to Orlando Volcano’s imprint Escape From Nature, his recent collaborations with Roosevelt have been getting us all het up.

There will also be an extra special guest DJ set from Petite Noir, as well as DJ support comes from ‘fiyah’ duo Can You Not and @lydaux and @gitoo_thoo on hosting duties.
