Dummy Presents: Godmode at Halcyon, Brooklyn

Joining us for the September edition of Dummy Presents in New York are local label Godmode. Established four years ago by Nick Sylvester and Talya Elitzer in 2012, the imprint has been home to an eclectic range of electronic acts during it’s lifespan, ranging from Malory to Shamir.

We’re also moving venues this month, and it’ll be the first party at Brooklyn record store Halcyon.

Heading up the Godmode bill is Seoul and New York based breakout Yaeji, who sings softly in both English and Korean over enigmatic house beats to great effects.

Next up is ex-ballet dancer turned techno savant Malory, who turned our heads last year with blistering track Dah, so we’re pretty excited to invite her back to play a live show of isochronic tone and monaural beats.

Tyler McCauley and Tara Chacón join forces to become Brooklyn based experimental R&B duo Soft Lit. Still bathing in the success of their sext anthem U Up, we can’t wait to catch some of their further material live at Halcyon.

We’ll also be hosting the live debuts of improvisational vocal and synthesizer duo Gioia and Godmode head Nick Sylvester's new ambient modular project, Bari.

Further DJ support comes from Smash Brothers. Described as the "Soulwax of New York”, they’ll make their DJ debut down at Halcyon this weekend.

As always, entry is free to our New York shows. For free entry please RSVP to nyc@dummymag.com and keep up to date with further announcements on the Facebook event page.
