Chairlift - Amanaemonesia Brooklyn duo make a brilliant pop song (and video) you’ll have trouble forgetting.
Chairlift are an electronic pop duo from Brooklyn who once had a track on an Apple ad (that’d be Bruises from their debut album ‘Does You Inspire You’). While their past material was perfectly lovely, this new song is really, really brilliant – tons of swagger, a massive hook and a seductive 70s swing. It came out on Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor’s label Terrible Records a couple of weeks back and, coupled with this Wuthering Heights-in-lycra-esque video, it makes for addictive viewing. Apparently there’s a new album in the works and, should it live up to the pure hit of Amanaemonesia, then, well, it’ll be very big indeed.
